In my previous blog post, I shared the story of the writing of Stick Out Your Tongue. From that story you should be able to tell that a music video was always part of the idea for the song. I went back and forth on exactly what the video should look like, but I finally decided on videos of people dancing both with and without them sticking out their tongues. I sent a notification to my followers on social media along with my email subscribers. There were a handful of people that I reached out to that I thought would contribute creative ideas. They did not disappoint.
Everyone that contributed videos for this project appears in the finished product. A big thank you for your contribution. Here is a list of the people in order of their appearance:
Joel Durham – The guy dancing with the dressing dummy.
Dan Hutchinson – The guy in the blue shirt and the post-it note on his shirt.
John Spears – John is the father of the three dancing kids, Brayden, Ryleigh and Jonah. (John is an outstanding musician. I recommend you give a listen to his music)
Joey Reed – The dancing pastor.
Dave Parker – The guy in the VU shirt.
Laurie Durham – The woman dancing while Joel is trying to hide. Joel and Laurie are married.
Emma Durham – The girl dancing while holding the dog. Joel and Laurie’s daughter.
Bucky Durham – The Durham family dog
Mary Wheeler – The girl wearing the cowboy hat in the sepia-toned photos. My youngest daughter. The photos were taken years ago.
Andrea Wheeler – The lady behind the masks. My wife.
