25 Years Ago is a song that I wrote for my wife for our anniversary back in 2010. I am finally giving it an official release.

It was 25 years ago this September
In a little country church, you remember
You stood there by my side
And I took you as my bride
Then we had some cake and punch
It wasn’t much of a lunch
Lot’s of people thought we were like two peas in a pod
So lots of people must have thought that you were odd
I thought you were smart
You thought I was funny
We must have married for love
Because we didn’t have money
And we were both just crazy enough to think that it could work

I still have second thoughts from time to time
And I’m sure you wonder why you were ever mine
You treated me good
You treated me bad
You made me happy
And you made me sad
I sure I did the same thing to you
I guess that just what married people do

After all this time we are still together
And it looks like we will stay that way forever
Because you’re my best friend
I think we’ll make it to the end
We’ve made it this far so we just might
Be doing something right
You might not be smart
I might not be funny
But we’re probably in love
Because we still don’t have money
And we’re still just crazy enough to think it can work
In that little country church, you remember
It was 25 years ago this September
