One of the joys of being a parent of my son has always been the anticipation of the pictures from school. The picture above is a good representation. He has a mischievous look on his face that captures his spirit. Over the years, we were entertained by each package of photos from school. I have selected some of the more entertaining ones to share here.
When I think of James school pictures, this is the one that I usually think of first. I remember him at home the morning this was taken. He was very picky about the shirts he would wear and how the tee shirt should look under the open shirt above it. It was like this was his chance to become a GQ model. I can only imagine that he ran around on the playground prior to picture time. It also looks like someone might have grabbed him by the tee shirt. It’s a completely different look from what he had when he left home but he seems happy.
The smirk on James face in this photo shows his indifference to school and photos. I can imagine someone asking him to smile and this was all he was giving them. He would give them a half smile and that was it.
James hair is showing early signs of being out of control in this photo. The slightly chapped upper lip was also a feature of many school pictures. The look on his face also indicates he was up for some hijinks.
How could this not be our favorite school picture of James? I cannot tell you how much we laughed when he brought this one home. We were thankful that it was a spring picture that wouldn’t go in the yearbook.
