Traveling Through Denver

Several years ago, I was traveling for business with a large group of people.  During our trip, we were visiting several of the customers of our company.  I was the only salaried person on the trip and was responsible for taking care of the group.  There were at least 2 people on the trip that had never flown before.  I was the only male in our group.  Our travel plans took us to Walla Walla, Salt Lake City and Denver.  The inexperienced travelers were nervous, especially on the first flight.  By the end of the trip, one of the most nervous ladies was making future travel plans.  She asked me if you could pick what size plane you rode on when you fly.  She had decided she liked the larger planes more.

Getting through the airports with seven people is a task when everything goes right. Our group was large enough that we had to rent multiple cars for some of our stops. In Walla Walla, our hotel was overbooked, and we ended up staying in multiple hotels.  The stop in Denver provided the most adventure.

We were able to get one vehicle in Denver that was large enough to hold all of us.  We drove to our hotel, got our rooms and I began to unpack. It was early evening and we planned to go eat after everyone had a chance to freshen up.  I had been in my room for about 5 minutes when my phone rang. It was Clara.  She told me that she got the wrong luggage at the airport.  When she opened the bag and saw someone else’s stuff, she also found a business card for the owner of the luggage.  She called a number on the card and was able to contact this person.  Fortunately, they lived close to our hotel.  We left the bag at the front desk of the hotel after we explained the situation to the clerk and our whole group left for the airport.  When we arrived at the airport, I let Clara out at the baggage claim area and we parked.  When Clara entered the baggage claim area, she immediately saw her bag.  It was the only one still riding around on the carousel where it had been for at least an hour.
