One of my co-workers in my department is obsessed with getting away from work as soon as possible. He has a reputation for running over people between him and the back door. He tries to get to work as early as possible to get a parking place as close to the employee entrance as possible. On days when he had to park next to what he considers the best parking spot, I have seen him move his car during lunch over one spot just to get the better spot. One day some of the people in our department decided to slow him down.
At the time, he was working out on the factory floor. It was winter and he would need to stop off in our office for his coat and stocking hat before he left for the parking lot. I was standing in the office when he came in and grabbed his coat. He went to stick his arm in the arm of the coat, but it wouldn’t go. One of his co-workers had loosely stitched up the arm hole of the jacket. He grabbed so scissors and got it loose. After he put his arm in, he couldn’t get his second arm in because both had been stitched. He reluctantly took it all in good humor. When he was finally able to get both arms in his jacket, he pulled his knit cap out of his pocket. As he put it on his head, the dots from a three-hole punch rained down on his head. This is when he slowed down and just laughed.
