Holiday Greeting Song

I remember as a kid, we would occasionally get Christmas cards that had the phrase “Happy Holidays” or “Seasons Greetings” on the front.  We would receive these cards from family members that I knew were good Christian women.  I never thought of these phrases as potentially offensive to Christians.  But it seems like we have gotten to a point in our world where people want to be offended by any type of greeting.  If you say either of these phrases above, you are seen as trying to be politically correct to try and not offend non-Christians.  If you insist on saying “Merry Christmas”, you are trying to be politically correct and not offend Christians.  It seems that the argument is more about politics than it is about religion.  And there shouldn’t be an argument at all.

As a Christian, I use this season to celebrate the birth of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  I believe that he came into this world as a savior to ALL people.  Not just the ones that say “Merry Christmas”, not just the ones that have a hissy fit when they hear people say “Happy Holidays”, but all people.  Christians, Jews, Muslims, Atheists, all people.

At the birth of Christ the angels proclaimed “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men.”  I would encourage my fellow Christians to be the body of Christ this season promoting peace and showing good will toward men.

And if you are going to throw a hissy fit when someone says something other than your approved holiday greeting, this song is for you.  Turn up the sound, the recording isn’t that good.
