Art’s Bio
I am an entertainer, singer, songwriter and storyteller from Jackson, Tennessee. I’ve been involved in music all my life. I started playing and singing at an early age. The piano is my primary instrument but I play all instruments on my recordings. While song writing has always been part of what I do, I began to take it more seriously around 1998 when my music became more personal. I started including my life experience in the writing of the songs, even when they were based on familiar stories from the Bible. Prior to that, most of the songs were just excuses to tell jokes. I still try to include humor in my music, even when it has the most serious messages.
My music is both secular and religious. I started releasing music in 2010. My latest Christian release is a digital album called Speaking in Tongues. My first CD release featured my Christian music and was called, Bible Stories. On my last CD, I returned with a new set of religious music called Six Minutes After Seven. I also released a single based on the creation story in Genesis 1 called Creation.
The first was a novelty song called Tennessee Boxed Wine Enema based on an real incident at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. The other single is 4-H Chicken Shack. It concerns a young couple hiding from her parents in this attraction at the West Tennessee State Fair in Jackson. The latest single is Don’t Cry For Me When I’m Gone. It is a country funeral song pretending to be a gospel song. I have also released a CD called Arkansas, This EP includes some of my more popular tunes including the title song and Electric Jesus. My first full non-religious album is called Elvis Week. It includes the song Elvis Week about my annual visits to Graceland. It also includes the fan favorites Turning Into An Old Man and Hulk Hogan Goes To Court. I released a Christmas single called Inflatable Baby Jesus. It is a follow-up to Electric Jesus.
My most recent project is a single called Stick Out Your Tongue. It is a fun, funk instrumental.
I also mentioned that I am a storyteller. On this blog on this website, I post the lyrics to my music and the notes about writing and recording my songs. I also share stories from my life that I hope you find entertaining.
I try to have fun with my music and I hope you have fun listening to it too.
