Walk On The Water With Me
Jesus said to the disciples, “Go down to the sea Get into the boat and don’t wait for me I’ve been really busy and I’ve had a big day I’m goin’ up to the mountain, I’m goin’ up there to pray” So later on when Jesus came down to the shore He found out that the boat wasn’t there anymore He started walking ‘cross the lake right out from the shore As the sun started rising ahead When he got to the boat in the middle of the lake They thought he was a ghost and they started to shake When he heard them cry and he heard them scream He said “Don’t be afraid! Be brave! It’s just me!” Peter heard his voice and said “If it’s you Then I want to walk on the water too Just tell me to come out there with you.” And this is what Jesus said, “Come on and walk on the water with me Come on and walk on the water with me Come on and walk on the water with me Come walk on the water with the Lord” Peter stood in the boat and climbed over the side He stepped out on the waves and the rising tide He never tripped and he never slid He started walking on the water like Jesus did But then he looked at the wind and he was afraid He forgot all about all the steps that he made And he started sink. And he started to fade In the water he started to tread Jesus grabbed his hand and he pulled him out And asked him, “Why did you worry? Why did you doubt?” When they climbed in the boat, Jesus calmed the wind And the disciples bowed down and they worshiped him When you hear God’s voice and he’s calling you And you want to walk on the water too Remember keep the faith in whatever you do Remember what Jesus said, “Come on and walk on the water with me Come on and walk on the water with me Come on and walk on the water with me Come walk on the water with the Lord” Art Wheeler © 2013
The Promised Land
We are standing On a mountain Looking into The Promised Land It’s a land of Milk and honey God has promised Abraham We are children Of the promise Strong in number Weak in faith Guide us over The stormy Jordan To a life in This promised place We have wandered Through the valley Through the storms and Desert sand We were never Ever hungry Fed with manna From God’s hand We are rebels We are scoundrels Undeserving Of God’s grace Still He guides us And protects us As we go to This promised place We are tired We are weary From our years on The winding road But our journey Is almost over Time to lay down Our heavy load We’ll remember All the trials In our victories Celebrate Everything that God has given Like a life in This promised place Art Wheeler © 2013
The Tree Of Life
Adam and Eve were Livin’ in a garden Naked as a jaybird Happy as a clam In the cool of the evening They’d go walking in the garden Talking and laughing With the Great I AM In the garden is a river By the river is a tree The tree of knowledge If you eat it, it will make you wise In the center of the garden Is a tree you can eat from And you will live for ever It’s the Tree of Life Chorus Take me to the river Guide me by the water Don’t feed me from the tree of knowledge I know all I need to know Feed me from the tree That the cherubim Guard with a flaming sword The Tree of Life is Where I want to go Adam and Eve were Eating in the garden From the tree of knowledge Recommended by a snake But God had told them That tree was forbidden But from any other tree they could eat All they could take Then they got their knowledge And they saw they were naked They made some clothes from Some of the leaves When he saw they disobeyed him God sent them from the garden And he sent an angel To protect his trees There’s a Holy City Descending from heaven God will live there His people too They’ll go walking in the city Talking and laughing God will be the light For everything they do In the city is a river By the river is a tree Its leaves will heal the nations And take away their strife And the fruit that the tree bears Is a fruit you can eat from And you will live for ever It’s the tree of life Art Wheeler © 2013
The Belly Of The Whale
Jonah was a man of faith; a man God gave a mission Said “Jonah for the souls of man, I want you to go fishin’ And Nineveh is where you’ll go to preach to all the heathen And when they hear My word from you those people will start believin’” Now Jonah hated Nineveh, and he thought he’d go Anywhere but Nineveh, but he didn’t know That when you run away from God you might as well set sail With a one-way ticket right into the belly of the whale Jonah jumped aboard a boat bound in the wrong direction But when the ship tossed high and low the sailors made the connection That they should cast their lots to see this stranger there on board Was the one who had the nerve to go and upset his own Lord The sailors said, “What have you done? Why do you run and hide?” And he said, “What will you do with me?” So they threw him over the side And a great big fish gulped Jonah down if you believe the tale And he spent the next three days and nights in the belly of the whale You know that it was three whole days before Jonah started prayin’ But the fish spit Jonah out on land when the Lord heard what he was sayin’ And Jonah went to Nineveh to preach to all the heathen And when they heard God’s word from him, those people started believin’ Now if you are a man of faith, here’s what you need to do Listen to the Lord and seek the path he has for you And if you run away from God you might as well set sail With a one-way ticket right into the belly of the whale Art Wheeler © 2013
It’s Gonna Rain
People ask me what I’m doing And why I work so hard They ask me what’s this thing I’m building Here in my front yard They say it looks like a great big box Or a ship with a giant door They wonder why I made it so big And what I’ll use it for Chorus It’s gonna rain It’s gonna pour It’s gonna flood Then it’s gonna rain some more The waters will rise Up to the sky You better get yourself right with God Unless you want to die If this thing’s a ship, why build it here? Is what I hear them say Its way to big to fit in the river And the sea’s too far away And why did you make this boat so big? How will you close that door? You have a lot of room in there. What do you need it for? They ask about the animals That came from far and near Some they’ve never seen before What are they doing here? They wonder why they came in pairs They think that I’m insane But God has found favor with me And it’s about to rain Art Wheeler © 2013
This Rock
I’m standin’ here in this crowd And I know just what to do I’ve got a rock here in my hand I’m gonna throw this rock at you Your husband was away at work And they caught you with some man So I’m gonna throw this rock at you The law says that I can Your husband is my closest friend We’re as close as friends can be He ran to me and told me first And he gave this rock to me So I’m gonna throw this rock at you The law says that I can I gonna hit you with this rock This rock that’s in my hand Now I’ve known you for quite a while Since your husband is my friend I know about your secrets I know about your sin And all good people in this town Well, they know about you too And they’re standin’ here in this crowd And they know just what to do Now, I’ve looked at you with a lustful eye But it’s really not the same ‘Cause no one’s ever gonna know Or put me through this shame So I’m gonna throw this rock at you The law says that I can I gonna hit you with this rock This rock that’s in my hand We’re taking you to Jesus To put Him to the test We know we’re going to stone you But we want to see what He says When He speaks, He draws a crowd So they must like what they hear And He’s messin’ around with all the laws But on you the law is clear We throw you down in front of Him And tell Him about you We tell Him what the law says And ask Him what to do Can I throw this rock at you The law says that I can Can I hit you with this rock This rock that’s in my hand Now He’s bending over And reaching out His hand And with His index finger He’s writing in the sand Now He’s standing up again He looks me in the eye Says “Throw your stone if you have no sin And make this woman die” He bends back down as I walk away My heart is filled with pain Because I know that I should forgive And there’s nothing that I’ll gain If I throw this rock at you Like I know I can If I hit you with this rock This rock that’s in my hand Art Wheeler © 2013
Least Of These
When you see me on the side of the road Will you give this man a ride? Do you lock your doors and hit the gas? Do you wish that you could hide? Do you think that you would help me out If you only had the time? Would you give this man a dollar? Would you give this man a dime? Do you think it’s ok to point and laugh Even when you know I’ll see? Whatever you do to the least of these You do it unto me. When you see me on the sidewalk Pushing everything I own In the basket of a shopping cart From a store where I never go Do you turn your head or stop and stare? Are you afraid of what I’ll do? Do you think that I should get a job? Would you let me work for you? Do you wonder where my family is? Do you think they care about me? Whatever you do to the least of these You do it unto me. When I’m naked, do you clothe me? When I’m hungry, do you feed? When I’m in prison, do you visit me? When I’m needy, do you try to fill my need? When you see me on a winter’s night And I have no place to stay Will you help me find a place to rest? Will you go the other way? Would you let me come into your church? Could I come into your home? Would you introduce me to your friends? Could we spend some time alone? When you’re safe and warm inside your home Do you wonder where I’ll be? Whatever you do to the least of these You do it unto me. Where ever you do Whatever you do When ever you do Whatever you do Whatever you do to the least of these You do it unto me. Art Wheeler © 2013
Son Of David
On the side of the road That leads to Jericho I sit and beg for food And money too I hear a great big noise coming right at me I say “What’s that sound” because I can’t see They say it’s a crowd and they’re following Jesus You need to be quiet when He gets near us He heals the sick and He’s the Messiah So when He gets next to me I start to cry out Chorus Son of David Son of David Son of David Have mercy on me They say to be quiet again and again And tell me I’m blind because somebody sinned Your mom or your dad, or maybe it’s you Tell us what’s your sin? Tell us, what’d you do? But I know that Jesus can make me see And He quiets His crowd when He hears me He says to call me, bring me his way When He hears me cry, when He hears me say On the side of the road That leads to Jericho I sat for years and years Now Jesus is here He says, “Tell me, what do you want from me?” I tell him, “Teacher, I want to see.” He says my faith has made me whole And now I can see. He says I can go But I’ll follow Him as He goes His way Telling what He did when He heard me say Art Wheeler © 2013

Six Minutes After Seven
I do not know the time or day I do not know the year But I know about the final days And I know that they are here The floods and the earthquakes The wars that you see Are simply just a prelude For things that are to be The man that showed me all these things Came to me from heaven And then suggested I repent before Six minutes after seven The sun will turn to black And the moon will turn to red The stars will fall upon the earth The fig tree will be dead Islands soon will disappear Mountains will be moved The rich and the mighty The slaves and needy too Will ask the rocks to fall on them When they look into the heavens And see them roll up like a scroll At six minutes after seven Hail and fire mixed with blood Will burn up all the trees A mountain that is full of fire Will make blood of the seas An angel will stand on the sea The prophet will eat scrolls That make his stomach sour But taste like jelly rolls And compelled to spread the word By a great voice from heaven That everyone should repent before Six minutes after seven The scroll will lose the seventh seal The seventh horn will blow The seventh woe will pour Out from the seventh bowl A seven headed dragon Wearing seven crowns Will intimidate a pregnant woman And smash up the town Angels will defend her honor A war will start in heaven And troubles spread upon the earth At six minutes after seven Your politics won’t save you Your status or your wealth Your church it cannot save you Or your attitude or health Your name in the Book of Life Is the only way And the testimony Of the Lamb that was slain Some store their treasures here on earth Some store them up in heaven But the end will come if you’re ready or not At six minutes after seven I’m telling you this story As it happened yesterday It’s happening tomorrow It’s happening today It happens to the Gentile It happens to the Jew It’s happening to me And it’s happening to you It happens to the people That don’t believe in heaven And it happens to the man of faith At six minutes after seven Art Wheeler © 2013
